Helping our Tennessee Neighbors after the storms and tornados

I know that several of you have been looking for specific ways to make donations
locally to help those who are still in great need after the storms and tornadoes
that devastated out area just one week ago.
So I thought since it is time to plan the grocery list this would be a good time
to let you know of some things going on here in town so that you can help.

WIVK 107.7  and News/Talk 98.7 will be accepting donations at the Walmart in Turkey Creek
on Monday, May 9th from 6-10 AM.
The items they are collecting are new blankets and new pillows as well as “comfort care items” ( toothpaste toothbrushes, shampoo, soap, lotions, deodorant, germ x, new towels, wet wipes, and diapers.
The items are bound for Greene and Monroe Counties.
Go HERE to see more details.

From 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday, May 10, UT students and staff will be at Regal Soccer Stadium to collect items from the community to aid the residents of Bradley, Greene, Hamilton, Washington, Bledsoe, Cocke, Johnson, McMinn, Monroe, and Rhea counties.
The UT Volunteers football truck -- normally used to transport team equipment to away games -- will be parked at the Regal Soccer Stadium on Stephenson Drive, on the south side of UT's campus off Neyland Drive. UT has challenged the campus and surrounding community to fill the 18-wheeler.
